The only words one can say is thank you. Thank you to the many people who surround us and support us, because society needs people who are willing to walk alongside others, to reach out a hand, and not look the other way.” With these heartfelt words, our beloved Father Ángel opened the 3rd Mensajeros de la Paz Solidarity Dinner in Miami —a night filled with emotion, commitment, and hope.

On April 10, we gathered at Jungle Island with prominent figures from the business, cultural, and social spheres — all united by a shared cause: to support the programs we run both in Honduras, where we care for over 500 children and their families, and in Miami, where we work hand in hand with the NGO Hermanos de la Calle to support people experiencing homelessness.

The event was hosted by Rocío Sañudo-Limón, who guided each moment of the evening with great enthusiasm. We were deeply grateful to once again count with the presence of Chábeli Iglesias, who served as the event’s patron for the third consecutive year, and our dear Rosana, Honorary Messenger and ambassador of the organization, who gifted us an unforgettable performance. In a symbolic gesture, she auctioned off the capo from her guitar — a faithful companion throughout her artistic career.

One of the most moving moments of the night came during the words of Telma Ortiz, who shared a deeply personal story. She spoke about her ties to Asturias and her grandmother Menchu, a journalist, radio host, and one of the first “messengers of peace” in her family. “Years later, I still see in Father Ángel’s work that incredible mission of giving hope to those who have nearly lost it,” she said. And she added strongly: “He has everything it takes to change lives.”

The charity auction was another highlight of the evening, driven by the infectious energy of film producer Juan Antonio Casado. Artist MRDRIP also left his mark, creating a live painting that was successfully auctioned at the end of the gala.

This solidarity dinner was part of Father Ángel’s and the organization’s leadership team’s visit to Central America, where they toured several of our projects in El Salvador and Honduras. We return with our hearts full of hope and renewed energy to continue working for those who need it most. Every person who joined us that night was a spark of light on this shared path we walk together.
