After months of effort, hope, and teamwork, the Day Center for the Elderly and Individuals with Alzheimer’s in Algemesí has reopened its doors, fully renovated.
The reconstruction, launched after the severe damage caused by the October 2024 DANA, has restored a vital space of care, companionship, and daily life for nearly 70 elderly individuals.
The center has been rehabilitated with significant improvements in accessibility, safety, comfort, and equipment. The rooms for daytime care, therapies, and activities have regained their functionality with a refreshed look, and the gardens and terraces once again offer a natural environment essential to the well-being of the users.
The official reopening will take place soon. It will be a moment of celebration, but also of recognition for those who stood by the elderly during the most difficult times.
From Mensajeros de la Paz, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the support received, especially from Fundación MOEVE, whose solidarity was key to making this project a reality. We also extend our thanks to everyone who contributed: caregivers, technicians, volunteers, families, and local authorities.
Today, the Algemesí Day Center is not only rebuilt — it is more prepared than ever to continue being a home of care, dignity, and hope.
