As every January, the Church of San Antón once again became a meeting point for thousands of people in Madrid who came to celebrate the Fiesta de San Antón 2026.  

The feast of San Antón has been, for years, one of the most special moments for our church, whose mission of welcome, spirituality and service remains active 24 hours a day. In this church, where we offer daily breakfasts to hundreds of people every week, the feast takes on a double meaning: tradition and solidarity.   

This 2026 we have once again experienced a celebration full of emotion and participation, although with less influx than in previous years, somewhat due to the cold and rain as reported in the internal coordination meeting. Even so, the response was very remarkable. More than 6,000 bags of rolls were distributed, an essential symbol of San Antón.   

One of the most anticipated acts was, as every year, the blessing of the animals, a moment in which neighbors and visitors arrive with dogs, cats, birds and all kinds of pets that receive the traditional protective prayer of the saint.   

Among the most outstanding events this year was the participation of the music band of the Municipal Police of Madrid and the “Vueltas de San Antón”, which had the participation of the councilor of the Central District, Carlos Segura Gutiérrez, and representatives of the armed forces and civil protection.
