Our response to the DANA
Our current work
Months after the emergency caused by the DANA, Mensajeros de la Paz continues to support families who suffered material and emotional losses. Our commitment did not end with our immediate response: it continues everyday thanks to the solidarity of individuals, companies, and institutions that have trusted our work.
During this time, we are carrying out the following actions:
- Delivery of furniture and essential items
- Bed frames, mattresses, and bedding
- Appliances and basic household equipment
- Direct support to rebuild homes and restore dignity
- Food assistance for affected families
- Improvement of community infrastructure
- In collaboration with private companies and city councils
These actions reflect our commitment towards a comprehensive recovery, which goes beyond the emergency and seeks to rebuild lives with dignity, security, and hope.

Emergency Campaign for the DANA
Our work began on the first day after the flood. Having our own offices in various parts of the Valencian Community, we were also directly affected by the floods, suffering material losses. However, we responded quickly thanks to our proximity to the areas hit hardest by the disaster.
From the first moment, we adapted to the changing needs of the affected communities, working closely with local governments, other social organizations, and the community at large.
The actions we carried out focused on:
- Delivery of hot meals to affected families and emergency personnel
- Distribution of food, cleaning products, and personal hygiene products, both at our offices and directly to homes
- Shower and toilet service via our Hygiene Bus
- Free temporary accommodation for affected families, thanks to a partnership with Airbnb
- Cleaning, refurbishing, and furnishing damaged homes
- Emotional care and support through the Golden Telephone, especially for older adults and those in vulnerable
These actions were made possible thanks to the mobilization of volunteers, donors, and collaborating organizations who responded generously and quickly to the emergency.

In Valencia we support more than 1000 people through:
- Take-Away meal delivery.
- Solidarity Wardrobe, where we give new clothes or clothes in excellent condition to people who need them.
- Food Pantry: We deliver non-perishable food to families living in poverty.
- Growing Up Playing Project.
In Alicante we help more than 1200 people through:

In Castellón we serve more than 50 people through:
- We manage a New Opportunity Home for women and their children.

Mensajeros de la Paz es una ONG
La Asociación Mensajeros de la Paz fue fundada en el año 1962 por el Padre Ángel García Rodríguez. Es una organización no gubernamental declarada de utilidad pública y de ámbito nacional e internacional, y distinguida, entre otros galardones, con el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de la Concordia.
Desde sus comienzos, Mensajeros de la Paz ha siempre trabajado en proyectos destinados a la acogida, protección y mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas más vulnerables y excluidas, promoviendo a su vez el empoderamiento de las personas para que defiendan sus derechos y su dignidad.
¿Sabes que puedes recuperar hasta un 80% de tu donación en la declaración de renta?
Los primeros 150€ que dones desgravarán el 80% y a partir de 150€ desgravarán el 35%. Además, si llevas más de 3 años donando a Mensajeros de la Paz, tu desgravación en este último tramo se incrementa hasta el 40%.
