Mujeres que transforman

On March 6, 2026, Casa América hosted a very special meeting organized by Mensajeros de la Paz on the occasion of International Women’s Day, a day that brought together 40 attendees in a space full of symbolism, reflection and a look to the future.

Under the slogan “Women who transform the present and create the future”, the event became a space for open dialogue, participation and recognition of the essential role of women in our society.

The meeting was attended by speakers who provided complementary perspectives on equality, rights and the female experience in different professional and life areas:

  • Marta Higueras – judicial mediator and key figure in Madrid’s municipal politics.
  • Elena Rodríguez-Avial – a journalist with a broad view of the role of women in the media and in the socio-religious sphere.
  • Débora Gutiérrez, director of the Padre Ángel Social Foundation – a reference in emotional and social accompaniment.
  • A special testimony, which offered a human and direct look at the daily challenges that many women experience.

The session was presented by Almudena Moral, head of communication and moderated by Ana Ferrer, director of volunteering and strategic alliances of Mensajeros de la Paz.

The meeting concluded with a coffee and networking time, a space for attendees and speakers to talk, create links and continue generating community around the promotion of women’s rights.

The organization stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen this type of meetings and expand participation in future editions. Women’s Day at Casa América reaffirms Mensajeros de la Paz’s commitment to equality, the visibility of female leadership, and the defense of the rights of women and girls.
